Maria’s pre-wedding bridal portrait session

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

WOW… what an incredible shoot today!  After bumping the shoot from last week due to remaining moisture from the rain, today’s shoot at Riverwood was incredible… but that was to be expected.  After all, we’re working with the Duke family.  We have been fortunate to work with the Duke family for Andrea’s wedding and now Maria’s wedding coming up this winter.  Martha (mom) must have handed down a big dose of modeling talent to these pair because they simply rock when it comes to portraits.  Today, Maria gave us so many opportunities for great images, we could have shot the rest of the week!  Inside, outside, full-length, close-ups - we knocked out a LOT of images and we’ll be adding many more to them at the wedding in December.  Thanks for the awesome job, Maria!  Martha, Andrea, and Maria… what an awesome bunch!

Morning Visitors

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

As some of you know, our new Franklin location is something that has been planned and designed for years and the result is exactly as we had hoped.  One of the awesome things we love about it is the peaceful atmosphere that is all around us and that includes frequent wildlife visitors of all sorts.  Things that walk, run, crawl, and fly are regular sights.  One that we see very often is a family of deer.  Earlier this year, a fawn was found in our neighbors field and we have been fortunate to watch it grow.  Mom and one other deer were already regular visitors, but now there are three.  This morning, we awoke to see mom warming herself in the sun.  She stood in the same spot in the sun just looking around for quite some time - possibly warming up from the night and checking the scene before the fawn emerged.  As they moved about, it was kind of funny watching mom walk ahead while the fawn stopped to eat and then played catch-up with it’s youthful gallop… almost something you would see in a cartoon or Disney movie.  It also looks like the mom is getting ready for cooler temperatures and may be putting on a winter coat.  What a great scenery to begin the day.

Michelle & Marc

Saturday, September 16th, 2006

With weather from a storybook, this weekend Michelle & Marc held their wedding at Cheekwood ’s peaceful Japanese Garden.  The awesome temperatures allowed for a tranquil ceremony among the rock garden, bamboo paths, and lush gardens.  It was all so picturesque.  Michelle and Marc each selected to have one attendant which was something that provided total flexibility in timing and mobility to capture a wide variety of looks for their collection of images.  After Michelle and Marc were pronounced husband and wife, guests took a short stroll and were treated to a night of entertainment at the Frist Learning Center on the Cheekwood grounds.  Catering was done by Cheekwood and the music provided by the Booty Shakers from Decatur, Alabama.  It was a night full of hits from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s and with the band in full costume, they recruited participation from the guests not only with costume accessories, but also with the singing.  To mix things up a bit outside of the pop/disco music, there was incredible guest participation in the Hora dance in which several couples took their place in the chairs as they were lifted above the crowd of excitement.  It was definitely a night to remember.  Congratulations, Michelle & Marc!
