Our “weddings for doctors” trend continued this weekend as were thrilled to work with Dana, Chuck (brain surgeon), and all their friends and family.  Oh, and let’s not forget Beamer - their dog - who was definitely part of the wedding outfitted with his very own tux and everything!  The wedding location was Riverwood Mansion which provided the perfect setting for this outside Spring wedding.   Guests were treated to a garden wedding to the side of the mansion where decor was provided by nature and the floral embellishments of Stems by Sarah and just when the “I Dos” came, the clear garden lights came on which was a perfect segway to the beginning of the reception celebration.  While Dana & Chuck finished up a few portraits and then enjoyed their very own private dinner, guests were free to enjoy the views of the property as well begin their dinner.  Entertainment for the night was by Blair Saldana at Nashville Party Authority who is someone we definitely recommend and have known for many years.  Once announced, Dana & Chuck were surrounded by guests as they celebrated the cutting of their wedding cakes.  The “bride’s” cake or “wedding cake” was simply awesome and centered the display room with beautiful glowing linens.  The groom’s cake was Dana’s surprise to Chuck.  With Chuck being a brain surgeon, it seemed only fitting to have the cake in the shape of a brain… and red velvet cake inside to make even more visual impact when it was cut.  Everyone loved it!  The reception continued with special dances and plenty of congratulatory wishes by friends and family which were summed up by the joyous flower-toss exit that Dana & Chuck made in a classy blue Corvette.  What a wonderful evening for everyone who attended!  Way to go, Dana & Chuck!

Ok, new rule.  All future portrait subjects now have to go through the School of DDMM (Dee, Dan, Michael, Matthew) where DDMM will share tips on how THEY were the perfect subject for a portrait shoot.  You guys are awesome!  What a smooth shoot it was today and we were able to wrap it all up before the thunder rolled in.  I can’t wait to see all the images, but wanted to give you a sneak preview here.  Have a great weekend and thanks SO much for being…. well…. you!

Well, I know we always seem to comment on the weather in relation to wedding days, but it plays such a HUGE part in how the day will progress…. especially when it’s an outdoor wedding like that of Dorrie & Jared this weekend.  While Rebekah & I watched the morning progress, we saw alternating white puffy clouds and dark gray thunderheads roll by - all while keeping our fingers crossed because…. well… we don’t yet have an umbrella that is large enough to quite cover the entire Will’s Garden at Cheekwood.  By the time things were about to get rolling, the sky had calmed and the chance for showers had disappeared, so we were good to go for the rest of the afternoon.  Dorrie & Jared planned such a great experience for their guests.  With the ceremony in Will’s Garden and the reception in Massey Hall, guests were able to stroll and experience much of Cheekwood’s garden area - all in the setting sunlight and with temperatures that were very pleasant.  The entire day flowed extremely well and efficiently.  That’s one of the great things with Dorrie & Jared - they’re so efficient and cool-headed which is about the biggest blessing anyone could ever ask for on a wedding day!  Photos were a breeze with the bridal party and families which allowed us to capture several locations in the garden.  Once the reception kicked off, the great people at Spangler Entertainment kept the reception alive with activities the entire night.  Participation was definitely not lacking as family and friends readily joined in the celebration to congratulate the newlyweds.  Way to go, Dorrie & Jared.  You guys are awesome!  Talk with you soon!
