Joella & Robert - Wedding

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

What a great wedding day to round out the popular wedding month of June 2007!  Joella & Robert have been an absolute pleasure to work with from the very first meeting of ours and we had a great time during their engagement session downtown Nashville earlier this year when it was ooooohhhh so chilly.  Well, chilly it was not this past Saturday as many of you know.  Toss on a black tux or layered wedding gown and things get a little crazy hot, so we tried to keep our outside shooting to a minimum in order to keep everyone from boiling too much.  Joella, Robert, and the entire bridal party were troopers and let us get the job done despite the heat.  We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with everyone on Saturday… and loved the car, Robert!

Judson’s 3 month session

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Judson and his mom Amanda came by today for Judson’s 3-month session.  It’s amazing to see the differences that develop so quickly between a 4-week session and a 3-month session.  Those differences expand the options you have for images such as when the child is able to support his own head and Judson certainly had no problems with that.  He was also full of facial expressions and even was “talking” to us in his own language.  No fussing at all either…. Judson rocked!  Thanks for another great session, Amanda.

An afternoon with Katie & Sloan

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Wow, what an incredible afternoon it was with Katie and Sloan (sisters).  Our goal was to create a spectrum of images with looks that ranged from your traditional large wall portrait all the way to some looks that have more of a fashion or commercial zing to them.  In all our experiences shooting throughout the years, we’ve often found that sessions often include a few different looks to them because the subject in the image can have different tastes than family and parents.  For teens and young adults, that often is the difference in producing something funky and producing something more traditional.  It’s not difficult to produce images that cater to both tastes as well as the different decor themes where each print may be displayed, so it’s a win-win for everyone.  That was our goal with Katie & Sloan.  We wanted to produce a classic look used for a wall portrait that is commonly displayed in a size similar to 30×40 and that often has a classic look to it.  After accomplishing that, the next goal was to create some images that showed their youth and beauty in a less traditional format - all while having fun doing it.  Katie & Sloan were definitely rock stars for the camera, so we were able to create an awesome collection of images that capture their beauty in different and creative looks.

Holly & Jeremy - Wedding

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Wow, it seems like only yesterday that we were shooting Holly & Jeremy’s engagement session…. which was a very cold day in April, but indeed those couple months flew by and here we were on Saturday shooting in the prime of summer temperatures.  The location was Lillie Belle’s located in Historic Downtown Franklin and with our being located in Franklin, travel time was almost zero.  Both wedding and reception were at the same location, so once guests arrived, they had the luxury of not having to relocate for the reception which is great for out-of-town guests.  Everyone arrived and was ready on time, so we cruised through the bridal party formals before the ceremony time and wrapped up with family groups and Holly & Jeremy as a couple after the ceremony and the light was just beautiful.  During that time, the guests enjoyed dinner in the interior of Lillie Belle’s which is set-up in a tea-room like atmosphere.  The second stage of the reception took place in the courtyard where guests enjoyed cake, special almond tea, and listened to performances by songwriter/singer friends.  Congratulations, Holly & Jeremy!  The wedding day was beautiful!
